We had a trip to the beach, it was raining when we left home and when we arrived, but the moment we parked it stopped and gradually the sun came out. Just perfect, beach empty and loads of dramatic skies.

A Day in Cartagena

On Saturday, we passed the day in Cartagena, with lots more of the members of AFOTO. Luckily the day was beautifully sunny although, being on the coast it was really quite breezy too. We visited the recently discovered Roman Theatre, the port and the Castillo de la Concepción or Castle of Ducks as it is also known. Lunch was taken in a lovely restaurant on the port, where we had chopitos, pulpo, salad, arroz caldero, wine, beer, sangria, pudding and coffee!!! After this the climb up to the castle was much needed ;o)

Semana Santa

Well, here we are nearly at the end of the easter holidays and I've not updated this blog for, oooh ages (again). Every day, so far we have been going somewhere, even just for an afternoon, so lots of photo opportunities for me :o) Here are some photos of an easter procession that I took in Cartagena, when we went down to stay with my lovely friend Cani - wish she lived closer.

We rounded off the evening with Churros and Chocolate, which was just gorgeous.

It looked like spring had finally come. Today however it is absolutely lashing down - I blame my sister who will be arriving from the UK tonight!!

An outing with AFOTO to Murcia

Well, a couple of weeks ago I went out with the Camera club to Murcia, we had "real" models and a workshop on using various forms of lighting outside. Here are some of my pictures from then.




It was a fabulous day, beautiful weather and a superb lunch, had Caldero de Pescado, which is a rice dish from Murcia - don't tell my neighbours, but I actually prefered it to the local paella!!! I am really struugling to keep up with this blog, but I will persevere. Off to hunt through my flick now to see if there any other photos I need to upload here.

Here comes the spring

Well, looks like the spring is starting to arrive at last, the almond trees are heavily in blossom and it is starting to warm up during the day. It has been a very long winter this year, acustomed as I am to only two months of chilly weather!
